Since completing his apprenticeship in the machine tool industry in 1980 Richard has now over 38 years’ experience in various design and engineering management roles in some of the UK’s leading machine tool, automation and robotic assembly manufacturers. Since 1990 he has worked for Modular Automation Ltd, ATM Automation Ltd, Automation Systems Ltd and Stirah Engineering Ltd where he has held a variety of senior management positions providing comprehensive solutions to the consumable, capital goods and automation market sectors. Richard has been involved in the conception and management of over 200 assembly, robotic and process automation projects delivered across Europe and North America. Over the past 25 years as well as core engineering he has been involved in the management of all aspects of company procedures including sales, commercial contracts, purchasing and accounts.

Richard Pryle

Mechanical Engineering Manager

Richard completed an advanced modern apprenticeship with Atlas converting in 2004 and since then has accrued 15 years of experience in the design and development of bespoke machinery. He has worked directly for Atlas converting, Molins ITCM, and Swiss Winding Performance before starting his career as a contractor in 2013 under RDP-engineering Ltd. Customers include ATM automation, Mechatronic solutions, Meech international and the Automated Technology Group amongst others.

During his time with Swiss Winding Performance, Richard was the Lead Mechanical Design Engineer on a prototype cast stretch winder for Windmoller and Holscher. The winder “Filmatic PS” (for performance stretch) is the highest quality winder produced by Windmoller and Holscher. Richard is the registered designer in the patents filed in the USA, China and European patent office (Cast Stretch Film Winder (#WO 2013/003968 A9) ). Continually working in the bespoke engineering sector Richard has experience producing machines across a wide range of industries such as medical, pharmaceutical, converting slitter rewinders, converting cast stretch winders, converting spooling, body and white, Automotive assembly, high speed packaging, robotics and automation, food and drink, materials handling and even textiles.
